Menstrual Equity Update for PHC

Menstrual Equity Update!

I am thrilled to announce that I was selected as a finalist for the PERIOD. Youth Advisory Council and was nominated for the PERIOD. Youth Champion Award. Additionally, I learned today that I was chosen to be a Pad Project Ambassador for 2022-2023, and I am so excited to utilize what I have learned in advocacy and implement them nationally! What a busy week!

So what are PERIOD. and The Pad Project?

Period is a "youth-fueled nonprofit that strives to eradicate period poverty and stigma through service, education, and advocacy. Through the distribution of menstrual products, promotion of youth leadership, and championing of menstrual equity in policy, PERIOD. aims to center those disproportionately affected by period poverty and support local efforts for menstrual equity."

Similarly, The Pad Project's "mission is to create and cultivate local and global partnerships to end period stigma and to empower women and all menstruators worldwide."

So what can I do in accordance with PHC to help in these initiatives?

As an ambassador, the Pad Project will frequently repost activities and infographics hosted for example by PHC's first and founding chapter at Staten Island Academy. Additionally, events and fundraisers will be sponsored by The Pad Project, and I will have access to the resources provided by this incredible organization. And the final and most significant point to emphasize, there is a fantastic team of like-minded individuals striving for menstrual equity to help our fight in this mission!
